Retain Stanley Fischer as Governor of the Bank of Israel

We, the undersigned, urge the Governor of the Bank of Israel, Stanley Fischer, to reconsider his decision to resign as of June 30th 2013 and to remain in his post until the end of his term in 2015.

During his 8 years as Governor of the Bank of Israel he has made invaluable contributions to the stability of the economy of the country and has represented us in international forums at a level unsurpassed by any of his predecessors.

At this critical time in the history of Israel, when counties worldwide seek to isolate us from the world community, it is critical that we have as many competent, statesmanlike individuals in important positions who can provide the credibility needed in such forums which is critical to our long term viability.

While we recognize the personal pain that is caused by living so far away from one’s children and grandchildren, we who are signing this petition request that he continue in this post for an additional two years for the good and welfare of the State of Israel. We appeal to his sense of duty to his brethren to make this additional sacrifice for which all of us will be eternally grateful.

With respect and gratitude for his past service to his people, we appeal to him to reconsider.
