The number 19 bus service which serves the west side of the Conwy Valley has been cut from one bus every hour to one every two hours as from Monday 19 May 2014. This reduction follows an earlier cut, from one bus every half-hour to an hourly service, around three years ago. The 19 bus serves Llanrwst Medical Practice, Llandudno Hospital, and links with the 5/5X service to Ysbyty Gwynedd.

The reduction makes no sense at all, considering that two new routes - the 19A and the X19 - have been established on the east side of the Conwy Valley, duplicating existing services.

We, the undersigned, call on the Traffic Commissioner for Wales and the West Midlands to reinstate the frequency of the number 19 bus to an hourly service, in order to provide a decent public transport system for the people of the Conwy Valley.
