Background (Preamble):
31.2% OF WEST VIRGINIANS ARE OBESE AND HAVE A BODY MASS INDEX GREATER THAN THIRTY; ALL CITIZENS IN WEST VIRGINIA WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS WHILE DINING AT RESTAURANTS IN WEST VIRGINIA WITH NUTRITION INFORMATION DISPLAYED ON THE MENU.
Petition:
THEREFORE WE ENCOURAGE THE WEST VIRGINIA LEGISLATURE TO ENACT A RESTAURANT LABELING LAW TO REQUIRE ANY CHAIN RESTAURANT WITH FIVE OR MORE OUTLETS IN WEST VIRGINIA AND TEN OR MORE NATIONALLY TO LIST TOTAL CALORIES ON MENUS OR MENU BOARDS.
