CHICAGO Oct 9, 2006 (AP)— Here's some soothing medicine for stressed-out parents and overscheduled kids: The American Academy of Pediatrics says what children really need for healthy development is more good, old-fashioned playtime.
Petition:
We the people, general citizens, educators, parents and concerned parties are asking the Alaska Legislature to Mandate at least (2) Recess's in Alaska Schools consisting of at least 15 minutes each, once before lunch and once after lunch.
We feel that Recess should not be taken away as a form of punishment or any other reason unless absolutely necessary.
