If you live on Sherman Avenue, you know that it is one of the worst kept streets in Menlo Park. There are bumps and cracks all along it and it probably hasn't been paved for many, many years. This could be a danger issue as well as plainly looking bad.
These huge bumps and cracks in the street could cause someone on a skateboard, bike, rollerblades, or even just a walker, to accidentally trip and fall onto the hard asphalt. This may not be a big deal for a small child, but for an older pedestrian, this could mean breaking a few bones.
Every street around us, and even part of our street, has been repaved, but not the part we live on. This is simply because no one cares enough to ask the
government to repave it. Now is the time to speak up and take advantage of the first amendment.
We, the residents of Sherman Avenue, ask Menlo Park and the Sam Mateo County, to repave Sherman Avenue to make it a safer and more favorable place to live.
