Petition to Rename Burke Stand - Alone Middle School to Phillip Simmons Middle School with the Mascot of a Panther.
This is to reconnect the History of Charleston's East Side Community that was removed when Charles A. Brown High School was closed.
A vital piece of Charleston History can be revitalized and honored respectfully with the re-connection of these two historical institutions and two historical and contributing neighborhoods that have made Charleston the city that it is to this day.
We, the undersigned, request that Burke Stand - Alone Middle School be renamed Phillip Simmons Middle School with the Mascot of a Panther.
