Dr. Rodrigo Silva is the Director of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. The conditions at the shelters are deplorable and the number of dogs euthanized daily continue to increase.
After repeated requests to Mr. Silva to maintain higher standards of care for the animals, no substantial changes have been made. The shelters under the direction of Mr. Silva evaluate the animals taken into the shelter incorrectly in order to label them non-adoptive in order to make the shelters year-end report seem better than it actually is.
Animals are not receiving proper nourishment or basic medical needs and are being neglected causing many to be malnourished.
We the undersigned call on the Maricopa County Board of Directors to remove Mr. Rodrigo Silva from the position as Director of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
Furthermore, we request that Mr. Silva not be associated in any office that has direct connection to the care of animals.
