The Sunshine Coast Council has released a Draft Planning Scheme for public comment. In these draft plans, a Local Resource / Processing Area (shown on the Extractive Resources Overlay Map OVM26G) at Lot 2 RP 157072, lying between Burtons Rd and Browns Creek Rd has been zoned.
This area is surrounded by National Park and Private Residence. The possibility of blasting and high volume heavy-haulage traffic introduces a potential risk to the health, well being and safety of locals and the environment that surrounds the said area.
We, the undersigned, request the permanent removal of the Local Resource/Processing Area (shown on the Extractive Resources Overlay Map OVM26G) at Lot 2 RP 157072, lying between Burtons Rd and Browns Creek Rd, from the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme of 2012.
We also request the removal of the associated Local Separation Area and Haulage Routes.
An application on this area will require the applicant to address many overlay codes, which will prove unviable and result in much wasted council time and resources.
