The White Rajahs were a dynastic monarchy that founded and ruled the Kingdom of Sarawak, located on the island of Borneo, from 1841 to 1946.
The first ruler was Englishman James Brooke, who was granted the landmass of Sarawak in 1841 and received independent kingdom status from the Sultanate of Brunei.
The White Rajahs dynasty continued through Brooke's nephew and grandnephew, the latter of whom ceded his rights to the United Kingdom in 1946 which is believe to be through manipulation and conspiracy of British empire.
How come Malaysian history textbook and other media define and labeled the Founding Father of Sarawak Independence as 'colonizer/penjajah'?
We, the undersigned, call on the Malaysia government, Sarawak government, Prime minister of Malaysia, Chief minister of Sarawak, education ministry and related agencies to remove the labeled of 'Colonizer/Penjajah' to White Rajah of Sarawak in history textbook and other media and platform as it was offensive to Sarawakian and a fake and manipulative facts of history and study material for our young generation.
It is high time that the World, Malaysian and especially Sarawakian to realize and respect the Founding Father of Sarawak Independence from colonization of Sultanate of Brunei.
