The intersections at both Walnut Street/Washington Street and Walnut Street/Church Street are a problem of safety and congestion.
Vehicles, both pedestrian and safety, are unable to pass and lead to stoppage in traffic when meeting at these intersections.
Walnut St. is very narrow and removing the four spots in this stretch would alleviate the issue.
We, the undersigned, call on the Alexandria City Council to eliminate four parking spots on the east side of Walnut Street between Washington Street and Church Street only.
