The Hammond, IN police officer in question needs to be suspended and removed from duty and never allowed to handle another K9 officer again.
There is no alleged abuse. That is flagrant assault on an OFFICER OF THE LAW!
As a former US Army Military Police K9 handler, I am appalled at this behavior from a sworn officer. And if the Chief of Police allows this type of behavior from his officers, then he himself must be held accountable for his actions and allowance of such appalling behavior!
