The General Conference of the International Labour Organization convened by the governing body met in its 100th Session on 1st June, 2011 and adopted the ILO Convention 189 supplemented by a Recommendation 201.
The Convention may be cited as the Domestic Workers Convention, 2011. Recognizing the significant contribution of domestic workers to the global economy, which includes low pay.
