On 19 March 2012, 7 councillors resolved at a Council meeting to fight the second airport at Wilton without consultation with the community.
The Federal Government has not commenced environmental studies for the site but the Mayor Col Mitchell and the Deputy General Manager have commenced the campaign at ratepayer's expense.
It had not been disclosed where the money is coming from in the adopted Budget for 2012 or how much is being spent.

We, the undersigned, ratepayers say "NO" to Wollondilly Shire Council spending ratepayer's money to campaign against the second airport at Wilton for the following reasons.
Council's Charter is to provide roads, rates and rubbish, not involve itself in political issues opposing the second airport at Wilton without it being a mandate from the people.
