As the growth of Merritt BC continues, it is has become even more important to have a safe and cost effective way of getting throughout the city.
With more businesses being built out of the city centre, and having the local college approximately 3 km out of the town core, there has been plenty of complaints from students and employees that getting to work or school is sometimes difficult, with walks taking as long as 1 hour.
In addition, the province of British Columbia has received funding to start public transportation in smaller communities. Having this online petition, and the petitions that are at local businesses, will show our concerns to the government of BC that us citizens would like to have city buses in Merritt.
We, the undersigned, call on the Hon. Minister of Transportation, and the City of Merritt, to consider that the City of Merritt have a public transportation system.
