All across The US, public schools are serving school lunches the are thrown away because they make you take what you don't want, even if it seems inedible. Some foods you can't even tell what they are. A piece of bread looked like a "sweet potato".
The other problem is, kids who cannot afford a school lunch are usually put on a discounted program sent in by the parents. Many kids have irresponsible parents who won't send the forms in and don't feed them at home. Children all across the country are starving and their biggest source of nutrition is school lunch.
There is a sign in our cafe that reads 'our foods contain GMO's (genetically modified organisms)'. We need food, not fillers.
