On July 1st 2009 the Richmond County School System officially adopted a new policy and schedule of fees for the use and/ or leasing of public school facilities. This new policy centralizes all leases giving the principal no authority to allow gymnasiums to be used by youth groups or youth sports organizations.
The fees for use of a Richmond county school gymnasium starts at $ 100 plus an additional $ 30 an hour for custodial staff for a non profit group, the fees increase for commercial groups.
We, the undersigned, call on the Richmond County School System / Richmond County Board of education to establish a fair and reasonable schedule of fees for community youth groups, community youth sports organizations and publish the criteria by which an organization can become an approved youth group recognized by the Richmond County School System.
