Newstead's advisory board has been told that Barnet Council is currently exploring outsourcing for Newstead which would privatise the provision of all of Newstead's services and is likely to lead to reduced access, a drop in quality and a loss of staff.
We would therefore request that you sign our petition to join your voices to ours so that Barnet know how much we value our local Children's centre before it is dismantled without public consultation.
We, the undersigned, would like to express our concerns about Barnet's plans to outsource Newstead and our wish that Newstead not be taken out of local government control which we fear is likely to lead to compromises in quality and the loss of trusted, excellent staff members as well as reduced accessibility.
We value the support Newstead offers all families in East Finchley and want reassurance that Barnet will protect services to its families and youngest residents.
