Confirmed by medical experts, female pitchers are not fully developed until the age of 16. Pitching from a 43ft distance can potentially causes muscle damage and shorten the careers of these young women.
ASA is the only organization who understands the implication and stress pitching distance has on these young women. That is why a 40ft distance rule is in place in ASA tournaments.
We, the undersigned, call on Girl's Fast Pitch organizations to make a uniformed policy that pitching distances for girls under the age of 16 years old, be no greater than 40 feet.
