Petition Background (Preamble):
We all know and love the historic frontage of the former Rossendale Hospital. New plans for housing would see this demolished and we the undersigned would like to see the historic part of the existing building retained within the development to preserve our local heritage.
Built of local stone it is of historical value to the beautiful surroundings of the Rossendale Valley and is a local landmark. The building started life as a Poor House but has a special place in the hearts of Valley Residents many of whom have visited.
I support my local MP to save this historic building and wish to be kept informed of his progress on this matter.
