After recent tragedies at numerous schools we need to step up and protect our school children. Some schools in Rockingham county you can walk right in and no one would notice. If we can protect criminals in prisons then why can't we protect our children....are criminals safety more important? Add a buzzer system so someone one has to be buzzed in to come into the school. Give veterans a job standing guard at schools. Put a officer at every school.
If its not in the budget then you are saying money is more important than our kids!
We, the undersigned, call on the Rockingham County N.C. School Board to make our schools safer by assigning resource officers to every school. Installing a camera or buzzer systems for anyone entering our children's schools, having veterans stand guard, place resource officers... Anything to make our schools safer.
Since the recent Sandy Hook Tragedy nothing has changed. Yes, a officer rides through the parking lot once a day. That simply is NOT enough. We want protection for our children. The same protection given to criminals!
