Background (Preamble):
Governor Granholm intends to cut all government aid to the Michigan State University Extension offices and MAES research programs. These two programs head the college of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University.
Removing this college would also then limit Michigan's second largest industry, the agri-food industry. Not only that, but it would also remove hundreds of jobs from an already struggling economy. Beyond this even, it would get rid of 4-H which is a dominant form of education in agri-sciences before college.

We, the undersigned, call on Michigan's legislators to pass the MSEU and MEAS budget plans.
