Principal Carter Paysinger Statement of Support
From Beverly Hills High School Alumni
We the alumni and friends of Beverly Hills High School object to the treatment of Carter Paysinger by the Beverly Hills School Board. Principal Paysinger has made a significant impact on Beverly Hills High School through his work as a teacher, coach, and principal.
He has been instrumental in creating a first class academic environment and facilitating students moving onto college. For example, many more student athletes received financial scholarships as a result of Principal Paysinger’s advocacy.
Principal Paysinger is also one of the few persons on the faculty at Beverly Hills High School who are in touch with the history and cultural makeup of the school because of his participation in the Integration Program that started in the late 1960s. Principal Paysinger has a track record of being a leader and bringing people together, a talent greatly needed in the field of education.
This is why the Beverly Hills High School Alumni are so concerned that Principal Paysinger is being wrongly targeted and mistreated in a discriminatory manner. This behavior by the Beverly Hills School Board Members is not consistent with Beverly Hills High School’s commitment toward social and racial harmony that has been a part of our high school legacy for 45- years.
The unacceptable behavior by the Beverly Hills School Board Members is particularly upsetting because Carter’s performance as the principal at Beverly Hills High School has met the expectations of the position based on industry standard test scores and graduation rates.
We the alumni and friends of Beverly Hills High School sign this statement to signify our support of Principal Carter Paysinger in his position at Beverly Hills High School.
