Call on Members of Parliament to Support Political Party Project Farms Program in Sierra Leone

Honorable Members of Parliament:

We, the undersigned, recognize that there is need for a youth policy that supports the establishment of farms by political parties in Sierra Leone. We recognize that the youth are an important constituency, with potential to offer opportunities as well as problems. And that they face greater problems than previous generations, in terms of finding a livelihood, and in seeking change and a voice in governance.

We also recognize that unemployment is a key concern for young people in Sierra Leone. That it is a national issue. We therefore acknowledge the policy proposal for political parties to be provided with funds from the national budget to establish political party project farms as a viable youth policy that can help bring opportunities to the fore and that will address the crucial problems of today's youth, thus leading towards solutions, rather than crises.

We appeal to Honorable Members of the Sierra Leone Parliament to use their positions as representatives of the people of Sierra Leone to legislate a development policy that would ensure that successful political parties (including the ruling party, the opposition and third-parties with seats in Parliament) are provided with funds from the national budget to establish political party project farms in various rural communities in the country.

By this petition, we want Honorable Members of Parliament to know that supporting the policy proposal for a political party project farms program will be a significant measure to address the sustainable development and employment needs of the youth in Sierra Leone.
