The Lumbee Constitution provides that decisions of our Lumbee Tribal Supreme Court upon hold the Lumbee Constitution and reflect the will and interest of the Lumbee People.

This petition requests that the Lumbee Tribal Supreme Court review and maintain its previous decisions upholding the Lumbee Constitution language that restricts holding tribal office to two consecutive elected terms.

Furthermore, the petition signatures attached to this document are to certify that this matter is of direct current interest to enrolled Lumbee Tribal Members.

I sign below as an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina.

My signature affirms that I support the Lumbee Tribal Supreme Court producing a written judgment on a current matter of great importance to the Lumbee Tribe.

I ask the Lumbee Tribal Supreme Court, "Is current Tribal Chairman Paul Brooks, who has been elected to two consecutive terms in the position of Tribal Chairman, eligible to run again for the Office of Tribal Chairman in November 2015?"
