Martha Barnes is a talented and dedicated individual who has had a deep and nurturing impact on the development of artistic programs inside The Studio of Key West.
The dismissal of Martha Barnes came as a surprise to her and to all of us in The Studio of Key West and in the artist community.
For the past five years, Martha Barnes`s skill and dedication have been evident throughout the excellent exhibitions she curated, and the diverse and engaging programs she organized for The Studio of Key West each season.
The removal of Martha Barnes from her longstanding position would be a great loss to Key West artists and the community, denying them the opportunity to benefit from her knowledge and the skills, passion, enthusiasm she brings to the Studio.
Martha Barnes is precisely the kind of curator The Studio of Key West cannot afford to lose and who should be back in the Studio where she belongs.
