We, the undersigned, formally protest the proposed rezoning of the property at 1508 North Ocean Blvd. from a RM-45 (Multiple Family Residence) designation to a PD-I (Planned Development-Infill) designation.
The current RM-45 zoning of 1508 N. Ocean Blvd. allows for a maximum building height of 105 feet. However, a PD-I zoning designation has no height restriction.
The proposed development by Mount Vernon Property Holdings, LLC at 1508 North Ocean Blvd. includes two 205-foot tall buildings, which exceed current building height restrictions by 100 feet and if constructed, would dwarf all of the surrounding buildings in the area.
The North Beach area of the City of Pompano Beach is currently comprised of low-rise developments, townhouses, single, and multi-family residences. We do NOT want this sensitive area threatened by the sprawl of extremely high buildings and are adamantly opposed to any rezoning changes that will ultimately destroy the character and natural beauty of our community.
