The residential tenancy Act:
Terms respecting pets and pet damage deposits 18 (1) A tenancy agreement may include terms or conditions doing either or both of the following:
(a) prohibiting pets, or restricting the size, kind or number of pets a tenant may keep on the residential property;
(b) governing a tenant's obligations in respect of keeping a pet on the residential property.
(2) If, after January 1, 2004, a landlord permits a tenant to keep a pet on the residential property, the landlord may require the tenant to pay a pet damage deposit in accordance with sections 19 [limits on amount of deposits] and 20 [landlord prohibitions respecting deposits].
(3) This section is subject to the rights and restrictions under the Guide Animal Act.

Take a stand against the Pets policy as it may prohibit pets that means that the number of animals abandoned will increase. There are lack of shelters so cats or dogs will starve or die.
There are lack of available foster homes for pets are people wiling to adopt them because of the no pets policy and that is not fair for these precious animals.
There is no protection for pets any where accept for Guide Animal Act there needs that is just wrong.
The policy should include protection for animals and respect pet owners rights not restrict them. No pet owner should be denied tenancy, because it is discrimination it is wrong!
Get rid of the pet damage deposit upon renting a suite half the months rent is outrageous not many people can afford it! Outcome forced to give up their pets, and the animals suffer to!
Tenants should not have to pay half a month's rent instead the tenant pay upon moving out of the suite and be responsible for any damages caused by there pet!
Tell this government we the people want the no pets policy to change respecting pet owners rights and the rights of animals!
The way the pet policy is now is cruelty to animals and it needs to stop now!!
