The City of Chesapeake, Virginia, has closed the skate park at Cedar Road and Las Gaviotas Blvd.
The city closed the park because the use permit did not specifically allow sports activities, although the church considered it part of their outreach ministry.
The park was run by Cornerstone church and the Chesapeake Surf and Skate shop.

Please grant the permit(s) necessary for Chesapeake Surf and Skate to legally operate an indoor skate park in the shopping center located at Cedar Road and Las Gaviotas Boulevard in Chesapeake, Virginia.
This skate park will allow the residents of surrounding neighborhoods to skate in a controlled, safe indoor environment.
Furthermore, this park will enhance the safety and quality of life for residents by giving youth a place to skate away from traffic, residents, and businesses.
