Approximately 11,000 Pennsylvania jobs are at risk as a result of the high cost of housing prison inmates.
Inmates are provided with the comfort and amenities of home at the cost of the taxpayers.
Our tax dollars must work to support prison workers and provide job stability, rather than further contribute to the over lavish and comfortable lifestyles of the inmates.
As taxpayers in Pennsylvania, we are insisting that the government require prison inmates to take personal responsibility for their own care.
The Pennsylvania taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for irresponsible inmates.
Therefore, it is our request that Pennsylvania adopt a daily subsistence fee to help offset the cost of inmate housing and alleviate the burden of the taxpayers.
