Witton Gilbert has one school which provides education for 3-11 year olds. Infant to junior school has 156 pupils Nursery has 18 places.
There is also a community centre next to the school which run playgroups. This is for 30 children. There has been no lollypop person there for years. The community is worried for the safety of all children on this busy road.
The bottom of the village does have a Zebra crossing but it quite away from the school and it is near the area of the new by pass.
We the undersigned call upon the council to provide a Zebra/ Pelican crossing at Witton Gilbert school.
We feel a crossing would help in the safety of our children going to and from school.
