PAY BOM/PRIVATE SCHOOLS TEACHERS

Since covid-19 struck our nation, the teachers employed by the board of management and private schools teachers have not been receiving their salaries. They need their salaries to take care of their families and to stop the shame they face in the society. How shameful is it when a teacher who should inspire hope among our kids becomes the most hopeless? How shameful is it for the minister of education to continue receiving his monthly salary she the people who falls under his ministry are going on empty stomach? How shameful is it to see the TSC commissioner go silent over the salaries of people who are legally registered under them as teachers? Are they only a commission of permanently employed teachers? Is minister of education a minister of permanently employed teachers only? Don't we feel ashamed as a society when a teacher and his student meets at a construction site asking for a job? Don't we feel ashamed as a society when a teacher and her student meets along busy streets hawking eggs and smokies? How will that teacher inspire that kid come 2021 that education is key and that we need educated men and women for a better country? We have failed one or two times as a country but we should not allow ourselves to fall that much.
