PAUL'S BIG RED BALL in the WALKER ART CENTER

Hello and welcome the “The Adventures of Paul’s Big Red Ball”. Our newly launched project is getting some unbelievable response and a reaction that I have never seen before.

This all came about from my frustrations of breaking into the high-end art biz. Immediately, I saw the difficulties of getting dealers return phone calls, let alone look at my sculptures.

So, I decided to “take it to the streets” and let the people decide.

I took my most conspicuous sculpture, “Lunch at the Local” (a 6 foot bowling ball with a civilization popping out of it) bolted it to a truck and hit the road.

The gawks, gazes and head-snapping reactions are being captures on in-the-field cellphone video. We are scheduling a Video Podcast that will chronicle the project and the process.

The goal to find an art dealer to sell my work has changed. There now is a much bigger quest.

This overwhelming public reaction is taking me on a new path of embracing social media and bringing my art to the people with a target goal in mind.

The new premise is to ask every person I encounter one simple question. “How a guy like me gets a piece like this in the Walker Art Museum.” I still don’t know how…..but I’m going to find out!
