Background (Preamble):
With the sudden outbreak of violence by a very small people in number whom represent no one but themselves, all people across all divides, communities and faiths, across the 32 counties of Ireland, are calling for an end to political violence.
Petition:
We, the people of Ireland, reject utterly the use of political violence.
We do not support or condone murder and bloodshed as a means of uniting the island of Ireland.
We come from many different backgrounds and hold many differing political and religious beliefs.
We are made up of republicans and non-republicans, liberals and conservatives.
We may be catholic, protestant or atheist, but we are united in our abhorrence of violence.
No atrocities should be committed in the name of the people of Ireland.
