Bodo buries 21 persons every weekend as a result of Hydrocarbon pollution of the Bodo creek by SPDC.
We the undersigned observed that the Bodo oil Spillage of 2008 which happened to be the greatest in the history of the world has caused a lot of devastation on the eco system including the lives of individuals, animals and plants in the area.
After the spill, a team of UN experts came to Ogoni and Bodo in particular and came out with some recommendations which include:
1. That SPDC should provide with immediate effect drinking water.
2. That a comprehensive clean-up should be carried out in the area etc.
I am therefore calling you SPDC and the Federal Government of Nigeria to provide portable drinking water to the people of Bodo to save their lives from hydrocarbon.
