نحن في اتحاد النقابات المستقلة نعلن استنكارنا لقرار فصل المهندس سمير شاهين من عمله في جمعية الإغاثة الطبية (منظمة أهلية) بعد خدمة 13 عاما على خلفية انتمائه ونشاطه النقابي وعليه, ندعوكم لضم أصواتكم الى أصواتنا بتوقيع هذه العريضة التي تطالب :
1) إدارة جمعية الإغاثة الطبية و رئيسها الدكتور مصطفى البرغوثي التراجع عن قرارها التعسفي وإعادة النقابي شاهين على رأس عمله
2) وزارة العمل بفتح تحقيق في أسرع وقت حول الأسباب الحقيقية لفصل النقابي شاهين وإعلان نتائج التحقيق واتخاذ الإجراءات المناسبة على ضوء ذلك
3) الحكومة الفلسطينية الوفاء بالتزاماتها واتخاذ كافة الإجراءات والتدابير اللازمة لحماية الحقوق و الحريات النقابية و ردع المعتدين عليها , و الإسراع في إقرار و تطبيق القانون الخاص بذلك
We, at the General Federation of Independent Trade Unions in Palestine, declare our condemnation of the decision to dismiss Engineer Sameer Shaheen from his work at the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (an NGO) after 13 years of service, and this on the background of his trade union membership and activity.
Therefore, we call upon you to join your voices to ours by signing this petition, through which we demand:
1) That the Medical Relief Society and its president, Dr.Mustafa Barghouthi, rescind their arbitrary decision and reinstate unionist Sameer Shaheen in his work.
2) That the Ministry of Labor opens promptly an investigation on the real reasons for the dismissal of unionist Sameer Shaheen, announces the results of this investigation, and takes the appropriate measures in light of these results
3) That the Palestinian government fulfills its obligations to take the necessary measures to protect trade union rights and freedoms and deter anyone from violating these rights, and to accelerate the adoption and implementation of a law to this effect.
