Although potluck for band banquet is an inexpensive alternative to having a catered meal, there are many issues with it.
About half of the parents will provide a dish, therefore there will not be enough food for everyone because not only will food need to be provided for 59 band students, but their parents, siblings, and boyfriends/girlfriends.
Also, many students feel that potluck is not appropriate for a banquet. Lastly, the banquet is for the hard working members of band, so we should have a voice in what food is served at our banquet.
We, the undersigned, wish to have a catered meal for our banquet instead of potluck.
