No New Estate in Woodford Halse

The proposed new 200 house estate off Byfield Road will seriously impact on the infrastructure of the village. The numbers of residents, cars, and necessary services that will be created by this build will far exceed any percentage increase that the current village infrastructure can cope with.

An estimated 600 residents in the new development will create approximately 300 additional cars on narrow local roads that already struggle at peak times. The same 600 residents will require services - such as school, GP, shopping and recreation. None of the services above could increase their capacity by the percentage that the village will be expanded by if this estate goes ahead.

Property prices are already the lowest for a village in the area, and will fall sharply with the addition of 200 new houses in the village. In summation, the building of this housing estate is not in the best interests of the village, and the residents who will be affected should have the right to be a major part of this decision.
