On August 10, 2005, Yahoo! News listed an article describing "bomb dogs" in Iraq - not dogs sniffing out bombs, but dogs that had bombs strapped to them.
"On a barren stretch of road in northern Iraq, a dog rigged with explosives approaches a group of Iraqi police officers. Detonated by remote control, the bomb tears the dog apart but doesn't harm the cops."
The new weapon in Iraq is not a nuclear bomb, a high-powered rifle, or a surveillance setup. The new weapon involves the use of innocent dogs, making them into unwilling suicide bombers. Even some Iraqis themselves are outraged by this gross cruelty; please, sign this petition that will be sent to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in hopes that they will bring attention to this cause.
