Mullaways Medical Cannabis Pty Ltd - Legalise Medical Cannabis, NSW

TO THE HONOURABLE THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF NEW SOUTH WALES

This petition of: Certain citizens of New South Wales.

Draws to the attention of the House: The chronically ill and dying Australians, sufferers of Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Epilepsy, etc whom choose to use Cannabis as a medical option to help manage/alleviate severe pain, nausea, appetite, etc (as is their base human right - The Common Law and Doctrine of Informed Consent) yet whom continue to be criminalised for simply using a medicine that provides them pain relief and a higher quality of life. Many find Cannabis does help them, and are treated as common criminals and junkies for it. Though Cannabis has been demonised for the past 50 years, natural Cannabinoids are a valid and important part of the human body/system, and have been used worldwide for thousands of years in health maintenance. Most commonly smoked, Cannabis can also be used in Tinctures, Patches, Creams, Oils, Edibles or Vaporized as healthier alternatives. Research has shown Cannabinoids can help countless illnesses.

We the undersigned petitioners therefore ask the House to: Legislate a system for medical Cannabis which allows for medical research/development, and the production/distribution of Cannabis/Cannabinoid based products in NSW (which would allow companies such as Mullaways Medical Cannabis Pty Ltd to proceed).
