Recent events have called for action, where a convicted sex offender escapes custody, cuts off his tracking device and attacks a woman jogging. the situation is the sex offenders at wacol on day release are too close to primary schools.
Suggest moving these offenders to other prisons out of Brisbane. Out past Gatton with other prisons would be ideal. It is needed so these offenders don't cause danger to the community.
If an offender has repeated and can remove his tracking device, and access vulnerable people, there is no community safety.
We, the undersigned, call on the Qld state government to eliminate the risk to centenary suburbs and move sex offenders away to Gatton prison, a prison specifically built away from the community.
