Recall Hon Jimmy Angwenyi, Hon Richard Onyonka and Hon Mithika Lunturi

The constitution provides that, “The electorates under Article 97 and 98 have the right to recall the Member of Parliament representing their constituency before the end of the term of the relevant house of parliament”. The 11th Parliament has started on a poor note. Members of Parliament are agitating for higher pay than those set by the Salaries Review Commission. They have threatened to disband the commission if they are not allowed to draw Kes 851,000 per month per MP from the tax payers. President Uhuru Kenyatta has decried the huge wage bill and has asked the leaders to tone down and serve Kenyan as per chapter six of the constitution on servanthood.

We are therefore appalled by three members of Parliament who have come out in the open to push for higher pay even before Parliament starts active house business.

We want the following MPs recalled from Parliament: Hon Jimmy Angwenyi - MP Kitutu Chache North, Hon Richard Momoima Onyonka - MP Kitutu Chache South and Hon Mithika Lunturi - MP Igembe.

Hon Angwenyi and Hon Onyonka come fromtwo of the poorest constituencies in Kenya. Despite having served previsouly as Assistant Ministers, both MPs have nothing to show the electorate that they have done which is meaningful. Hon Angweyi is on record to be a very noisy 'legislator' who keeps complaining. Note at the opening of Parliament he engaged in an exchange of words with security men and inside Bunge, the speaker had to ask him to control his anger and temper.

Hon Onyonka is as well riddled with purchase and sale of maize using CDF. Its revealed that Onyonka used some of these proceeds to pay tax he had evaded.

This petition is to recall the three MPs and sanction a new election on the respective electoral areas. Kenyans demand leaders who are selfless and who will uphold the constitution to the letter and spirit. Its clear that the 3 leaders do not understand that the Kenya's wage bill is 12% of our GDP ad this is affecting development projects. Normal wage bill is supposed to be between 4.5% to 5% of the GDP.

Let us exercise our rights. Let recall the two disgraced MPs. They have a choice - resign or work and earn the amount as set by the SRC which 525,000 per month.
