Paedophiles must be exposed and be held accountable for their actions. Michael Jackson openly admitted in court that he habitually had young naked boys in his bed. He was a sexually active adult male. Through a shameless display of 'victimhood' and exploitation of his celebrity status, he was allowed to get away with obvious abuse, despite there being previous strong evidence against him aswell as the testimony of several boys.
Unfortunately he will never now be held accountable. However, we must stop the global 'fanbase' deifying him and refusing to see the truth of what he did. Ignoring the truth is what continues to harm children all over the world today and will continue to do so.
Child abuse is extremely common and until we as a society open our eyes to it, however uncomfortable it may be, children will continue to suffer.
We the undersigned strongly object to any proposal of a 'Michael Jackson Day' or any other pseudo-deification of Michael Jackson in the media on the grounds that he was guilty of sexually abusive behaviour towards children.
We believe that to not hold this man accountable undermines both the rights of children and any attempts to expose child abuse. We believe that the only way to protect children is to tell the truth about all abusers, no matter what their social or celebrity status and hold them fully accountable for their actions either in life or after death.
