After recently receiving some vulgar threats and obscenities via an internet site (facebook) from a guy named Martin xxxx, who it turned out saw my name on a page about waltzers, and i've found out since that he works with/for a fair ground and that I am not the only female or child he contacted like this.
It disturbs me to think this man after what he had said, works / lives in a position where there are vulnerable persons of all ages in direct contact with him on a daily basis. People these days keep their children close. But all it takes is one split second. With that in mind wouldn't you like the peace of mind when the fair comes to your town that the showmen and employees have been criminal record check for their suitability to be placed in a position of trust.
And to be able to freely write what he did would have anybody questioning just what else is this guy capable of. LETS KEEP OUR KIDS AND OURSELVES SAFE.!!
We, the undersigned, call on our government and authorities to make CRB CHECKS mandatory to all showmen, employer's and employee's working on or for local or travelling fairgrounds.
