On Thursday, June 25, 2009, Zynga, Inc. introduced a lotto feature for it's Facebook Mafia Wars Players. Zynga advertises: "Daily Lotto: Play everyday for chance to win Reward Points and exclusive items" In addition to distributing "free" lotto tickets weekly, lotto tickets are also available for purchase using Godfather points.
The minimum prize available, for matching one of five lotto numbers, is an energy pack. After the first lotto drawing and numerous complaints of non-receipt of prizes due, the truth concerning energy pack prizes is that they will only be received if your Mafia family fails to send one that day. This stipulation renders the prize virtually useless, as even those with minimal Mafia family members typically receive their daily energy pack.
Mafia Wars players are outraged and demand a fair resolution to this situation, as the terms were not clearly set forth at the introduction of the lotto feature and prize descriptions are grossly misleading; lotto winners are expectant of the prizes they were promised.
The Mafia Wars lotto prize awarding system is inadequate as the terms are incomplete and what little descriptions provided are misleading. It is with disappointment that the following signatures are collected in effort to rectify this situation.
Mafia Wars players demand that the misleading advertisements be corrected and replaced with honest and straightforward explanations of the awarding processes and due prizes awarded immediately.
If Zynga, Inc. is unable to fulfill their duties to their loyal players as promised, we request that the lotto feature be discontinued. Your dishonestly is not appreciated.
