Local people, including cross-party Leeds MP's, Councillors and religious leaders, have called for a cap on the number of clubs allowed to operate in the city and are asking that Leeds City Council review their recent decision to grant licences to all seven Leeds lap dancing venues.

Campaigners have asked that clubs located on main City Centre streets, close to civic and religious buildings and tourist attractions, be refused licences and asked to move to more discreet locations so that residents, visitors and children should be able to avoid the sex industry on our main City Centre streets, making Leeds a more family friendly and welcoming city.

We the undersigned believe that sexual entertainment venues should not be located in prominent City Centre locations, especially close to civic and religious buildings, and call upon Leeds City Council to review the licences granted to sexual entertainment venues, taking location into account and to set a cap on the number of establishments allowed to operate within Leeds.
