Lend Swindon Community a Disused Building

Due to the downturn in this financial climate that there are many buildings sitting empty within Swindon. These would make ideal opportunities for community projects and new small innovative businesses who would otherwise struggle at start up. Yet they sit empty for months or even years at a time, doing nobody any good.

We all have many ideas for community projects and there are people ready to join but as we all know, everything starts with some financial support. Would it make sense, in light of recent public unrest, for all of us, including Swindon Council and local businesses to make a larger effort to contribute in rebuilding that community spirit that has been lacking of late.

Thanks to social networking sites like facebook and twitter, local communities could very quickly be gathered up to work together, to make a clean, inviting area in which people would be happy to come and feel a part of something, somewhere we can all voice our problems, share experiences and add to lifting the commercial recession by bringing in local stall holders and service providers to benefit the community spirit.
