This petitions aim is simple to increase the compassion we show to our least able members of society. Frequently when a disability is present there is a sense of shame because of the fact they live off the communities in question.
There are those such as myself who are sick of struggling through life and simply wish to die, however the shame of suicide can prevent this causing humans all over the world to live in misery for the term of the natural lives. Also increasing the misery felt is the fear that when death is attempted it will fail and "make my disability worse" or give additional scars and other issues that further set them apart.
This petition is founded on the following statements:
Human beings deserve the right to die with dignity when and how they choose with whatever medical help is deemed necessary. Further more Human beings deserve the right to not be slandered before or after regarding their choice in life.
Given the emotional cost, the economic cost and the opportunity cost to not only those with disabilities, but those forced to care for them, then surely the UN can pressure its members states to adopt legislation that supports, upholds and practically guides a man or women who wishes to die.
We, The Undersigned, call on the United Nations to declare the rights of those who wish to die with medical aid.
We ask that all UN member states be pressured to introduce legislation that protects these rights but also gives a legal and framework for them and provides means to access such services.
