''I don't want one World Series for the Indians, I want a string of them. I want to reach the Holy Ggrail,'' Dolan said in a New York Times Article on November 5, 1999.
After making such a bold statement, the Indians proceeded to make the playoffs two times in Dolan's ten years of ownership.
The city of Cleveland and its fans made history when they sold out 455 straight games. But due to the perennial "dumping" of All Star talent for "prospects" to assess financial matters rather than winning division titles and World Series championships, the morale level and city-wide support have reached an all-time low.
Winning involves spending money, Mr. Dolan, and you are obviously more interested in the bottom line financially than you are wins and losses. We are a proud and hard-working fan base, and we deserve a better product for the money we spend on game tickets, merchandise, and cable television service.
The loyal fans of the Indians, the inhabitants of the great city of Cleveland and northeast Ohio would like to ask you to sell the franchise to a more passionate owner.
