I am starting a petition to get British comedy actor, writer and director given a knighthood. I feel that Sykes deserves this knighthood for his services to British comedy, television and film.
He is well-known for his well-known screen friendship and partnership with the late Hattie Jacques, and for writing and directing many films such as The Plank starring Tommy Cooper, Rhubarb Rhubarb and Mr H is Late.
He is still going strong at the age of 88.
I am asking as many people as I can to sign the petition.
