The State of Pennsylvania has defined a minimum level requirement for townships to notify or advertise public notices such as ordinances.
Since the Township is located in a dead zone between several newspaper coverage areas and the fact that a significant portion of the taxpayers are from different areas, the majority of taxpayers are often unaware of these public notices.
This leads to elected officials making decisions affecting the taxpayers without the benefit of full public debate.
I am requesting that Kidder Township, Kidder Township committees and Kidder Township authorities provide full electronic access to public records including meeting agendas, meeting minutes, public notices (including ordinances), pending and approved budgets, financials, etc.
Additionally, the same information shall be made available to those who request to be added to a public record email list.
The Kidder Township Electronic Access to Public Records petition to Local Government was written by David Schena and is in the category Government at GoPetition.
